Purchased as a shell within the Six Senses Crans-Montana resort, the apartment concealed a completely different home waiting to be discovered. Recognising its hidden potential, a diamond-cut opening through a load-bearing concrete wall was proposed—a bold intervention that became the catalyst for a radical rethinking of the floor plan, unlocking new relationships between space, light and movement. Shaped around the rituals of everyday life, the apartment balances openness and privacy, generosity and efficiency, creating a home that feels intuitive, elegant and quietly expansive.

Calm by Design

The moment one walks through the door, the apartment feels deeply connected to the surrounding mountains. Alpine granite, brushed pine, lime-washed walls and natural textiles create an atmosphere that is both grounded and refined. Softly layered lighting, veiled curtains and seamlessly integrated storage bring quiet order to daily life, while a muted palette echoes the colours and textures of the alpine landscape, inviting a dialogue between shelter and nature.

We hadn't expected the hidden potential within the original layout. The apartment now feels perfectly suited to the way we live.

Sustainability Approach

Sustainability is expressed through a thoughtful commitment to local sourcing and responsible material choices. Alpine oak supplied by regional artisans and locally quarried granite root the project in its mountain setting. Recycled aluminium light fixtures, reconstituted stone surfaces containing 30% recycled content, and low-energy lighting and plumbing systems further reduce environmental impact. Together, these choices ground the apartment in the alpine territory while asking less of the world beyond it.
