O Castelo seen across the valley

At the edge of Rio de Janeiro's Tijuca National Park, O Castelo, an abandoned convent from the 1800's is reimagined as as a shared place of welcome, discovery and renewal. The vision joins five-star hospitality with jungle cabins, pools, an underground conference centre and shady courtyards—while engaging the local community in food cultivation and spa training, uniting heritage conservation, social empowerment and environmental care.

A hotel with its own Centre for Sustainability: a rare invitation for guests, visiting researchers and local communities to meet around ecology, energy, tradition and social renewal. By evening, the Baron's House becomes an Explorers Club—a blast from the past— where journeys are recalled, discoveries shared, and the day's conversations continue over drinks, stories and wonder.
